Today I made a decision... my new, least favorite words in the English language are "waist down." See, every time someone says those words, something unpleasant happens to me. Last week when I went to the doctor, they said "It'll be waist down today" and I had to have a vaginal ultrasound.
I was half expecting that, so it wasn't a huge deal. But I thought I was safe this week... then again, maybe not! I was heading into the exam room, and the nurse said "Today's your day to have the Strep B test, so it'll be waist down." So I had to have a strep swab, and let's just say they weren't swabbing my throat... Not so pleasant... Then, to make matters worse, I guess since I was already sitting there in nothing but a tank top and a sheet, my doctor decided she wanted to check my cervix. THAT was less than pleasant as well. So, my new least favorite words in the English language are "waist down."
Anyway, other then the general unpleasantness, my appointments both went well today. I gained a couple of pounds, which is not surprising. Elena scored a 10/10 on her biophysical profile (that means she moved, she did her practice breathing, there's enough fluid, and she extended her arm or leg). She is (still) laying head down, which at this point is great. I'm having a few little contractions, but the doctor wasn't worried about them. And I got one more cute picture.
So all is well in baby world, and if I never hear "waist down" again, I'll be happier for it. Although, I get the feeling there won't be any shortage of "waist down" experiences in the next few weeks!

haha, that is so hilarious! The first "waist down" appointment that Jon went to he looked so scared and yelled "what are you doing!". I explained that its hard to do the pelivc exam with your pants on! HAHA. I have doctor Boulicault too! She is the best. She didnt deliver Charlotte though. She wasnt on call. I was upset at first, but then quickly realized I didnt care WHO delivered her as long as they got her the HECK out!!!! Hehe, have fun! By the way, I did have Strep B, whatever that means, and it was no big deal. I just got some antibiotic in my iv...so dont worry if its positive. I am so happy that Elena is doing so well. Email me if you have any questions!
