The Search

Well, one of the not -SO- exciting things about having a baby is finding a daycare to send that sweet six week old to when I have to go to work. I had several ideas early on and thought this would be taken care of and I would get to leave our baby with someone I at least knew. Unfortunately, both of the options I had fell through. So Josh and I are at square one with only 2 months or so until we HAVE to have a daycare. We got one recommendation, but when we went to meet her, the house smelled like cat, so she was a no. So I've spent several days searching a database of daycares in Columbia. Most of them are in neighborhoods I wouldn't feel comfortable with. the one that was actually in our neighborhood doesn't have any openings (bummer). And the ones that aren't in ugly neighborhoods usually come out looking like this on mapauest...

Yeah, that's Us in the upper left and the daycare in the lower right. In other words, it couldn't be any farther away and still be in the same AREA CODE! I did find one daycare that wouldn't be a horrible drive, it's actually in Josh's old house on Seattle Slew, and it has an opening for an infant. I wasn't blown away by her conversation skills on the phone, but we're meeting anyway next Week, so I'll reserve final judgment until then. It's just so hard because we're talking about my daughter here, and I don't want to leave her with just anyone. So, I'm counting on God to show us the right place. Everything else has worked well on His time through this pregancy, so why not this, too?! So, if anyone knows of someone who does daycare for infants I'd love some names!
